You are about to enter a territory which formation process began approx. 33 million of years ago with the creation of a group of rocks that through time has witnessed the great resilience of our Patta Hoiri (Mother Earth), who is able to experiment period of stillness which allow the formation of mineral and sedimentary rocks on distal areas of large water descending places followed by great energy release periods which have given birth to faults and folds which together enabled the rising of this large piece of rock, nowadays called Salt Mountain Range.

Location
13 km west of San Pedro de Atacama and 110 km SE of Calama, belonging to the Antofagasta region.
